A playful introduction to high-frequency words and classroom routines. Children practice greetings (nǐ hǎo 你好), names, feelings, and polite phrases (qǐng 请, xièxie 谢谢) through circle time, picture cards, and call-and-response. By the end, kids can follow simple directions in Mandarin and use basic phrases during arrival, snack, and pick up time.
Language meets music and movement to make sounds stick. We use action songs, finger rhymes, and TPR (Total Physical Response) to internalize tones and pronunciation. Themes include body parts, animals, and verbs (zǒu 走 “walk”, tiào 跳 “jump”). Children build confident pronunciation while associating words with whole-body motions
Picture books and puppets bring Mandarin to life. Each week features a short story with repetitive sentences, followed by role-play and simple retelling. Kids learn question/answer patterns (shéi? 谁 “who?”, shénme? 什么 “what?”) and story words like family (māma 妈妈, bàba 爸爸). Outcome: improved listening, turn-taking, and early narrative skills in Mandarin.
Early math in Mandarin through hands-on play. Children count objects (yī–shí 一–十), sort shapes (yuán 圆, fāng 方, sān jiǎo 三角), and explore colors (hóng 红, lán 蓝, huáng 黄) with blocks, beads, and art. We emphasize “how many?”, “what color?”, and simple patterns, building vocabulary and pre-K math readiness.
Learn nature words while observing the world. Topics include weather (yǔ 雨 “rain”, tài yáng 太阳 “sun”), plants, insects, and seasonal changes. Outdoor walks, sensory bins, and mini-gardening connect concrete experiences to Mandarin labels and sentences (jīntiān tiānqì zěnmeyàng? 今天天气怎么样?“How’s the weather today?”).
Gentle cultural immersion through crafts, music, and food-safe play. Children sample festival themes (Mid-Autumn, Spring Festival), try basic brush strokes, lantern crafts, and simple dumpling play-dough activities. They learn festival greetings, rhythms, and symbols, cultivating curiosity and respect for Chinese traditions.
